National Travel and Tourism Week, now in its 32nd year, is an annual salute to the powerful and diverse benefits of tourism to local economies, businesses, communities and the United States as a whole.
Casual for a Cause is Visit Baltimore’s citywide campaign for Tourism Week. Our goal is to raise awareness and funds – illustrating how tourism matters to Baltimore in a meaningful and visible way.
The plan is simple.
- EMPLOYERS sign up to participate in and promote Casual for a Cause;
- EMPLOYEES purchase a Casual for a Cause button for a one-time, $10 donation to a good cause– enabling them to wear jeans to work during Tourism Week;
- Visit Baltimore provides the buttons, signage and tools to explain why Baltimore is dressing Casual for a Cause.
In 2014, we raised $6,200 to help end homelessness in Baltimore. This year, all proceeds benefit the NEW Visit Baltimore Education & Training Foundation. Click here to learn more about the Foundation and its scholarship programs.
