As a mom of two, Jen Hausner is always on the lookout for fun things to do with her children and it's a bonus if they learn something along the way. The Inner Harbor is full of museums and attractions that are perfect for kids and that adults enjoy just as much. Hop on the Baltimore Water Taxi for a picturesque way to get around.

The BMA is one of two art museums in Baltimore that offers free entry all year round and is home to the largest collection of Matisse in the world. Jen recommends exploring the museum with a self-guided audio tour that explains the art in a more simplified way that's easy for kids to understand. Afterwards, she quizzes her children on what they saw and what their main takeaways were. Image iconlist_movies_bma.jpgImage iconbma_2.jpgImage iconscreen_shot_2018-09-07_at_9.16.46_am.pngImage iconBMA.pngImage iconBMA Lights.pngImage iconBMA Kids.pngThe Baltimore Museum of ArtThe Baltimore Museum of Art
Nationally acclaimed cookbook author and chef John Shields brings his signature Chesapeake Bay cuisine to Gertrudes, located in the Baltimore Museum of Art. As one of Baltimore's most popular attractions, there is something for everyone at the National Aquarium. Jen says her entire family enjoys going and can spend hours trying to see everything from the jellyfish touch pool to the 4-D immersion films.Image iconaa_bhm_aquarium.jpgImage iconaquarium.jpgImage iconaquarium_1.jpgImage iconaquarium_1.jpgImage iconaquarium_list_image.jpgNational AquariumNational Aquarium
Make learning fun again at the Maryland Science Center. This hands-on museum is perfect for kids to explore everything from dinosaurs to human anatomy. Check the schedule of The Shed for events and classes that teach visitors a DIY skill. Jen loves to take her children here because you can walk away with a tangible memory of what you've learned.Image iconscience_ctr_0005.jpgImage iconscience_center_3.jpgImage iconscience_center_1.jpgImage iconscience_center_friday_fun.jpgMaryland Science CenterMaryland Science Center
The Baltimore Water Taxi has more than a dozen landings and can take you from the Inner Harbor to neighborhoods like Fell's Point, Canton or Locust Point where Fort McHenry is located. It's also a budget-friendly way to get picturesque waterfront views while cruising.Image iconwater_taxi-40.jpgImage iconwater_taxi_1.jpgImage iconwater_taxi_areal.jpgBaltimore Water TaxiBaltimore Water Taxi
The grounds surrounding Fort McHenry are free and open to the public and Jen loves to come here for a jog while her kids ride bikes or play soccer. Pay the small entry fee and kids can become a junior ranger and help unfurl a replica of the flag that flew over the fort during the Battle of Baltimore.Image iconfort_mchenry2_b.jpgImage iconfort_mchenery_2.jpgImage iconfort_mchenery_6.jpgImage iconfort_mchenery_4.jpgImage iconfort_mchenery_5.jpgFort McHenry National Monument and Historic ShrineFort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine and Hampton National Historic Site
